Our Red Chris Mine, located in the heart of Northern British Columbia on the traditional territory of the Tahltan Nation. A short distance from Iskut and Dease Lake, Our fly-in, fly-out site offers access from various points across British Columbia and Alberta. Your Impact

As Team Lead, Procurement, you will oversee and coordinate critical purchasing and expediting functions for Red Chris Mine. Your leadership will directly support safe and efficient operations by ensuring timely procurement of goods and services, resolving vendor-related challenges, and developing your team in alignment with supply chain best practices. You’ll also play a key role in aligning day-to-day procurement execution with site priorities and operational needs.

As part of our team, you will
Procurement & Logistics Leadership
  • Supervise the work of procurement team members and support their development
  • Process ad hoc purchase orders requiring short delivery lead times
  • Oversee major purchases and coordinate with logistics to ensure timely site delivery
  • Liaise with the OA Advisor to identify long-term agreement opportunities to reduce PO workload
  • Monitor incoming deliveries, expedite critical items, and ensure receipt compliance
  • Resolve supplier payment issues and model solutions to mitigate future delays
  • Assess and monitor local vendors’ capacity for urgent supply demands
Commercial Oversight & Team Development
  • Mentor the team in commercial principles: payment terms, Incoterms, import rules, and logistics
  • Provide SAP-Ariba and Fieldglass expertise to support procurement excellence
  • Identify training needs related to procurement systems and processes
  • Review workload volumes and ensure balanced task distribution
  • Engage with stakeholders (maintenance, operations, site services, warehouse) to align expectations
  • Report on procurement KPIs, volumes, and savings to Supply Chain Leads
Prerequisites for your success in this role
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field (preferred)
  • Broad business understanding with the ability to identify risks and opportunities
  • Familiarity with Canadian procurement policies and regional supply chain practices
  • In-depth knowledge of local markets and mining industry vendors
  • Experience with sourcing, contract negotiation, vendor performance monitoring, and procurement auditing
  • Proficiency with SAP, Ariba, and contract management software
  • Previous experience in site-support procurement roles, including logistics and warehousing
Technical Skills
  • Ability to lead a procurement team in a high-paced operational environment
  • Strong sourcing, negotiation, and commercial management skills
  • Proficient in end-to-end purchasing: PO creation, delivery, invoicing
  • Skilled in supplier evaluation, contract review, and compliance tracking
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with cultural awareness for Indigenous partnerships
  • Highly proficient in SAP, Ariba, and Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Analytical skills to assess vendor proposals, pricing, KPIs, and trends
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on compliance, data accuracy, and cost savings
Problem Solving
  • Completes procedural tasks while adapting to site systems and priorities
  • Uses judgment to resolve issues or escalate when necessary
  • Identifies workarounds through trial and error, applying experience and pattern recognition
  • Continuously improves processes by learning from past procurement and delivery issues
Your Work Environment

Location: Fully remote (must be able to work in Pacific Time zone)

Travel: Occasional travel to Red Chris Mine for stakeholder meetings and site alignment

The expected salary range for this role is CA$103,300-137,700 . This range is tied to the British Columbia market for jobs performed in British Columbia. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience.
