Our Red Chris Mine, located in the heart of Northern British Columbia on the traditional territory of the Tahltan Nation. Your Impact

As Team Lead, Site Maintenance, you will play a key leadership role in overseeing daily road maintenance operations at Red Chris. This position is critical to maintaining safe and efficient access across the site by managing Tahltan Nation Development Corporation (TNDC) road maintenance crews, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and contributing to the operational success of our surface infrastructure. This role directly replaces the previous Lead and supports continuity in critical road maintenance functions.

As part of our team, you will:
  • Supervise daily road maintenance activities performed by TNDC crews, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to standard.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and contractors to plan and prioritize work scopes aligned with site schedules and operational needs.
  • Monitor road conditions and lead timely responses to weather events, damage, or safety concerns affecting road usability.
  • Conduct regular inspections and contribute to surface infrastructure upkeep (e.g., signage, berms, ditching).
  • Support safe equipment operations, ensuring TNDC crews are working in compliance with site policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate reporting, materials, and equipment availability to meet road maintenance objectives.
  • Promote a strong safety culture by participating in field leadership, safety meetings, and incident investigations.
  • Mentor TNDC operators and provide performance feedback in partnership with the Superintendent, Site Maintenance.
  • Support surface maintenance-related projects as required by the department.
Prerequisites for your success in this role
  • Red Seal certification in a relevant trade (e.g., Heavy Equipment Technician, Millwright, or equivalent) is considered an asset.
  • 3-5 years of supervisory or team lead experience, ideally in heavy civil, road maintenance, or mining operations.
  • Experience working with Indigenous contractors or First Nations partnerships is considered a strong asset.
  • Proven understanding of road-building standards, surface drainage, and safe operation of heavy equipment.
  • Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Strong commitment to safety, operational excellence, and team collaboration.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, with familiarity in SAP or similar CMMS considered an asset.

Conditions: Work is primarily site-based in a processing plant environment with close interaction with cross-functional teams
Requirements: Must comply with Newmont’s safety protocols and site-specific requirements. PPE usage is mandatory on site.

We offer a competitive compensation package with an annual base salary of CAD $103,300 - $137,700, plus a 15% Short Term Incentive. Final offers are determined based on experience, skills, and internal equity.

The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience.
