About Brucejack
Our Brucejack Gold Mine, a high-grade underground mine in beautiful northern British Columbia, is located approximately 65 kilometres north of Stewart. Brucejack is a fly-in/fly-out operation with pick-up points across Western Canada, making it easy for people from different places to join us. We work closely with local First Nations communities including the Nisga’a, Tahltan, Gitanyow, and Gitxsan, to build respectful partnerships and celebrate our shared community.

As the Superintendent, Process Control, you will lead the Control Systems team to ensure the reliability, availability, and performance of all fixed-plant Industrial Control Systems across Brucejack. Your work directly supports safe operations, optimal plant throughput, and continuous improvement in automation. You will also champion compliance, technical excellence, and consistent application of Newmont standards across site systems.
- Provide proactive leadership with a strong focus on health, safety, environmental responsibility, and regulatory compliance.
- Ensure adherence to Newmont’s Fatality Risk Management program, Electrical Safety Standards, and directives from the Site Electrical Authority.
- Lead, mentor, and support the Control Systems team to improve plant performance through effective automation.
- Oversee the availability and reliability of all site control systems, monitoring tools, and the AVEVA PI suite.
- Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and business plans for the Control Systems team and assigned projects.
- Direct lifecycle management of ICS infrastructure, including maintenance, upgrades, audits, and cybersecurity risk mitigation.
- Govern change management by reviewing, prioritizing, and executing system modifications and improvement opportunities.
- Safely deliver ICS-related projects, including business cases, scope definition, resourcing, scheduling, and risk management.
- Lead investigations into ICS-related failures, ensuring root causes are addressed and lessons learned are embedded.
- Collaborate with global teams to share best practices and standardize approaches across Newmont operations.
- Degree in Control Systems Engineering or related field, or a relevant trade qualification with 5+ years of experience.
- Strong experience supporting fixed plant control systems, including DCS, PLC, and SCADA technologies.
- Proficiency with Rockwell Control/CompactLogix PLCs, Emerson DeltaV, industrial Ethernet networks, and ICS communication protocols such as Modbus TCP/IP, OPC, and Profibus.
- Understanding of IT/OT fundamentals including virtual servers, databases, and cybersecurity.
- Experience with the AVEVA PI suite and industry best practices for control systems.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, communication, and team leadership skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively, manage change, and develop technical team members.
- Commitment to safe work and continuous improvement.
- Prior supervisory/management experience is an asset.

The Brucejack Operations team is now recruiting for the position of Superintendent, Process Control, with a competitive base salary between $145,350 - $193,800, with an additional short-term incentive of 25% and a long-term incentive of 15%. The offered base salary will be determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies, with consideration to internal equity.

The expected salary range for this role is CA$145,350-193,800 . This range is tied to the British Columbia market for jobs performed in British Columbia. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience.
