Your Impact

As Superintendent, Maintenance Control, you will lead Red Chris Mine’s reliability and planning functions to optimize long-term equipment performance and drive cost efficiency - all while upholding Newmont’s safety and environmental standards. You will oversee the development and continuous improvement of reliability programs, planning systems, and asset lifecycle strategies across both mobile and processing plant equipment.

As Part of Our Team, You Will
Leadership & Safety
  • Champions a strong and visible safety culture by ensuring all maintenance activities comply with Newmont's safety and environmental standards.
  • Manage Critical Control Verification (CCV), CHESS and Fatality Risk Management actions to ensure timely completion.
  • Develop a high performing team through collaboration, ongoing coaching and feedback.
  • Lead a team of planners and schedulers to produce high-quality job plans and ensure all resources (labor, spare parts, tooling) are efficiently scheduled to support effective execution.
  • Collaborate with operations, maintenance, projects, and supply chain teams as well as with vendors/OEM to prioritize maintenance activities while minimizing asset downtime.
Scheduling, Shutdowns & Work Management
  • Work closely with Supply Chain to ensure timely availability of materials, kitting, and on-site delivery of components and spare parts to support scheduled work.
  • Liaise with Corporate shutdown team to ensure successful planning, scheduling, and execution of Major Processing plant shutdowns.
  • Own the 12-month rolling plan and 52-week schedule for both Mobile and processing plant equipment.
  • Develop and drive adherence to the work management process, from work identification to completion and analysis.
Reliability & Asset Strategy
  • Lead the development and continuous improvement of Red Chris reliability program in alignment with Newmont's corporate governance.
  • Develop and optimize asset life cycle maintenance strategies and tactics ensuring accurate asset hierarchies, criticality rankings, and BOMs are documented in SAP.
  • Manage asset health and condition monitoring programs (oil analysis, vibration, thermography, NDT, ultrasound).
  • Implement condition monitoring technologies and leverage data analytics to enable early failure detection.
  • Lead Mobile condition based component change (CBM) program to maximize the life of high hour components and reduce maintenance costs.
Defect Elimination & Performance Monitoring
  • Oversee end-to-end defect Elimination process including Root Cause Analysis and timely completion of corrective actions.
  • Lead the development and execution of the site asset integrity program in accordance with corporate guidelines.
  • Manage the analysis of critical spare parts for equipment.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and deliver regular reports on progress and outcomes. Identify and drive actions for process and equipment improvements.
  • Review cost per ton/hour of equipment and make recommendations against best practice.
Prerequisites for Your Success in This Role
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field; P. Eng and certifications such as CMRP, CRL, or MMP preferred.
  • 10+ years of reliability and planning experience in mining, oil & gas, or heavy industry.
  • 5+ years in a planning and reliability leadership role with a strong track record of strategy development and implementation.
  • Advanced proficiency in SAP and CMMS tools.
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and analytical capabilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, contractors, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder engagement skills.

Location: Red Chris Mine, northern BC (within the traditional territory of the Tahltan Nation)

Rotation: 15x13, fly-in/fly-out

Accommodation: Camp-based lodging with meals, Wi-Fi, gym, and recreation facilities

Conditions: Field and office-based leadership role, requiring travel across site and exposure to outdoor industrial settings

The expected salary range for this role is CA$145,400-193,800 . This range is tied to the British Columbia market for jobs performed in British Columbia. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience.
