Your Opportunity
BDO Law’s Immigration Practice is seeking a Canadian Immigration Lawyer to join a growing, high-performing team providing strategic advice and representation in complex Canadian immigration matters, particularly in the business and economic immigration space.
This role offers the opportunity to work on high-quality files in a collaborative environment, with meaningful client interaction, autonomy, and the ability to contribute to the continued growth of the practice.
Key Responsibilities
Manage a range of Canadian visa, immigration, and citizenship applications, with a focus on economic and business immigration
Develop and implement immigration strategies aligned with client business needs while identifying and mitigating risk
Advise clients on changes in immigration laws, regulations, and policy
Independently manage files from intake to completion, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timeliness
Prepare and oversee applications and supporting documentation
Coordinate matters with government authorities, applicants, and employers
Supervise and mentor caseworkers and junior team members
Contribute to process improvements and efficient service delivery
Maintain a focus on quality and client experience rather than volume-driven work

Your experience and education
Member in good standing of a Canadian Bar
3+ years of Canadian immigration experience, particularly in business/economic immigration
Exposure to US immigration is an asset
Strong analytical, research, and writing skills
Ability to manage files independently and work directly with clients
Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage competing priorities
Strong work ethic, accountability, and commitment to high-quality client service
