Senior CMMC Specialist to lead and support the implementation of CMMC Level 2 and NIST SP 800-171 compliance requirements.

Our client is seeking a CMMC Specialist to lead and support the implementation of CMMC Level 2 and NIST SP 800-171 compliance requirements.

This role will be responsible for conducting gap assessments, developing remediation plans, implementing security controls, and preparing the organization for certification assessments.

Contract to December 31, 2026

Location: Calgary, Alberta (Preferred)

Work Arrangement: Hybrid/Onsite Preferred

Must-Have Qualifications:

• 5+ years of cybersecurity, information security, or compliance experience
• Hands-on experience implementing CMMC Level 2 and NIST SP 800-171 requirements
• Strong knowledge of DFARS 252.204-7012, 7019, 7020, and 7021
• Experience developing and managing System Security Plans (SSPs) and POA&Ms
• Experience conducting risk assessments, gap analyses, and remediation planning
• Knowledge of access controls, identity management, incident response, and security compliance documentation
• Experience preparing organizations for audits and compliance assessments

Nice-to-Have Qualifications:

• Previous experience supporting a CMMC certification assessment
• CCP (Certified CMMC Professional)
• CCA (Certified CMMC Assessor)
• CISSP or CISM certification
• Experience working with defense contractors, aerospace, manufacturing, or regulated environments

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct CMMC and NIST 800-171 gap assessments
• Develop and manage remediation plans
• Coordinate implementation of security controls across people, processes, and technology
• Develop compliance documentation, policies, and procedures
• Support audit readiness and certification preparation
• Provide guidance on CUI handling, risk management, security awareness, and continuous compliance monitoring
