Our energy & resources client is seeking a Security Operations Center (SOC) Operator to monitor and respond to physical security systems within major oil and gas operations

Join a critical team supporting the physical security program for a leading organization in the energy sector. The role focuses on real-time monitoring and incident response across enterprise-wide physical security systems, ensuring the protection of personnel, facilities, and projects. This position offers high visibility across business units and operates in a 24/7 control room environment dedicated to maintaining operational security integrity.

Duration: 1.5 year contract to start (initial contract until January 2028)

Working model: Hybrid onsite within downtown Calgary (3 days in-office/ 2 days remote)

Must Haves

  • 5+ years of experience in a Security Operations Center (SOC), Corporate Security, Control Room, Dispatch, or Emergency Response environment.
  • Experience monitoring and responding to physical security systems including access control, alarms, CCTV/video surveillance, or incident monitoring tools.
  • Experience working in a 24/7 shift-based operational or control room environment.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams to support security operations, emergency response, or incident management activities.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in pipeline, energy, utilities, oil & gas, or major project environments.
  • Familiarity with travel or social media monitoring tools related to physical security operations
  • Relevant security, emergency management, dispatch, or incident management certifications/designations.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor enterprise-wide physical security systems and respond accordingly
  • Manage, triage, and escalate technical issues related to physical security assets
  • Document and investigate incidents, including preparing and reviewing daily shift reports
  • Act as a single point of contact for personnel regarding security inquiries
  • Adhere to incident management processes and support procedure development
  • Work 24/7 shift rotations, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Provide additional support during major incidents or emergencies when required
