Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Intermediate to Senior Environmental Site Assessments and Remediation Project Manager to join our team! In this role you will get to work closely with a variety of professionals on environmental and infrastructure projects.
What You'll Be Doing:
The primary responsibilities for this position will include project management, coordinating investigations, design and/or preparing reports for environmental site investigation (ESA), excess soil planning, and remediation projects. Specific job description includes but is not limited to the following:
- Project management and technical support related to various environmental and infrastructure projects, including remediation design and excess soil planning, investigation and management;
- Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments to CSA and/or regulatory (O.Reg.153/04) requirements;
- Remedial design and site remediation oversight: including excavations, ISCO, bioremediation, permeable and impermeable barriers, and mechanical technologies (air sparge, pump and treat, dual phase extraction, etc.)
- Excess soil and waste management on infrastructure projects, contributing to planning and design inputs as per O.Reg. 406/19;
- Design support of infrastructure projects (roads/highways, transit, bridges, EAs, sewers/watermains) from a waste/contamination and excess soil perspective;
- Contribute to improving upon our project processes including field schedules, reporting, data process, health and safety, training, etc.;
- Support business development including proposal preparation on major and minor pursuits and client management;
- Project Management and Coordination: ESA and remediation related projects; Tracking and maintaining budgets and project finances; Preparing Reports; Maintain client relationships in various industries; Liaise and support other engineering disciplines; Primary point of contact with clients, junior staff, and other project managers.
- This position supports hybrid work with minimum 2 days in office but could vary based on business needs.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
- Bachelor's Degree in earth sciences, environmental/chemical/geological engineering or similar programs
- 7+ years of consulting experience at an engineering firm with strong experience in the applicable federal and provincial environmental laws and regulations within a Canadian (preferably Ontario) jurisdiction
- 3+ years managing contaminated sites projects and portfolios with consulting values over $100K
- Strong technical knowledge of environmental site assessments, excess soil planning and various remediation approaches
- Experience working with diverse multidiscipline and/or international project teams
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Financially literate from a project management perspective
- Process oriented, including adherence to rigorous client and Parsons process and policies including but not exclusive to reporting, health and safety, procurement, human resources and IT workflows
- Track record of delivering high quality work products
What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
- Qualified as a QPESA (i.e. registered as a P.Geo / P.Eng) preferred but not required
- Demonstrated leadership particularly with soft skills- ability to learn from and train staff.
- Technical expertise with one or multiple environmental remediation subject matters (ie. emerging contaminants, sediment investigation/remediation, contaminant transport modeling, etc.)
- Broad environmental and engineering knowledge related to consulting project delivery.
- Technology/software savvy such as knowledge of databases, GIS, AI, and other software packages.
- Business Development (networking) and proposal writing acumen.
