Liburdi GAPCO (The Great Atlantic and Pacific Pipe Welding & Construction Company, Inc.) is a provider of welding solutions to the construction and power energy industries. We are currently seeking a candidate who is qualified for the role of Project Engineer/Project Manager. This candidate must have a strong technical background in custom machine design, manufacturing and testing. The Project Engineer/Project Manager is responsible for planning, executing, and successfully completing projects that meet all customer requirements by managing scope, cost, and schedule. This role demands strong leadership qualities, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage complex projects across various departments.

Typical Duties Include (but are not limited to):

  • Review contracts to define project scope, deliverables and schedule in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders
  • Lead and coordinate project staff to ensure project milestones, technical and quality requirements are met
  • Develop positive working relationships with customers while communicating project status, addressing concerns and ensuring expectations are met, typically by chairing regular meetings
  • Coordinate with the Welding Engineer to develop process documents, inspection and test plans, technique sheets, work instructions, work plan and etc
  • Collaborate with the Quality Assurance Manager to define quality and documentation control requirements
  • Communicate all quality requirements to project stakeholders
  • Collaborate with the Site Superintendent/General Foreman to match contract scope to site conditions, identify gaps and define staffing, tool and equipment requirements
  • Initiate and/or approve purchases for the project
  • Provide accounting all required documentation to process customer invoices
  • Work with accounting to provide the customer with cash flow and forecasting reports

Key Skill Requirements:

  • Highly organized and detail oriented
  • Strong ability to lead teams
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office and project management tools

Key Experience/Education:

  • Engineering Bachelor’s Degree or Engineering Technology Diploma required
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant project engineering/project management experience is required
  • Mechanical, welding or metal fabrication work experience is an asset
  • Trades or staff management experience is an asset
