Manages a team ensuring the policies and procedures are being followed for assigned businesses / products. Strong analytical skills and attention to details are essential qualities for this role. With minimal oversight the incumbent exercises sound independent judgement by making decisions related to risk assessment, quality control, operational procedures and other delegated responsibilities associated with the business.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Manages a team responsible for ensuring policies and procedures within assigned businesses /products are followed
  • Establishes and maintains strong working relationships with the business unit teams it works with as well as related compliance teams
  • Capable of handling very advanced compliance work
  • Assists senior level team members with tasks and assignments as needed
  • Supports Business Unit in the development and implementation of policies, procedures that enable the business to remain in compliance with all Federal and State/Provincial regulatory requirements
  • Leads and supports special projects
  • Creates and provides training as needed to BU and/or compliance staff
  • Functions as a SME at a high level
  • Completes required reporting for the function at the BU or divisional level
  • May represent Compliance and Operations on division-wide or global projects
  • Ensures that policies and procedures for the function are documented
  • May work with regulators as needed
  • Coordinates and performs analysis on complex concepts that may require in-depth research and interpretation and provide sustainable solutions
  • Provides leadership to indirect reporting relationships
  • Participates in industry forums/working group to explore and develop possible solutions to various issues
  • Collaborates with all areas of the organization to ensure compliance needs and business goals are met
  • May serve as back up for various management overseeing various activities for example; exception reports, incident reporting systems, sales material reviews
  • Help with reporting and analysis of Digital Advice business and risk reporting
  • Full resource management responsibility
  • Decision making for hiring, terminating, training/developing and compensation changes for the team
  • Design policies and procedures for innovative products to address various stakeholders’ needs and concerns
  • Help shape roadmap of new product development
  • Influencing authority related to customer experience, compliance and operational matters

Required Qualifications:

  • College/University Degree and/or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 5 years of related financial services, compliance or management experience.
  • Strong technology skills including knowledge of applicable compliance or business systems
  • Strong ethical compass
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the financial services industry with an advanced understanding of the Company’s businesses.
  • Advanced understanding of the regulatory environment in which the Company operates and a s strong understanding of key compliance requirements applicable to the business.
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to facilitate decision making across groups in the company
  • Ability to embrace change; strong change management skills.

Working Arrangement

Salary range is expected to be between

$92,900.00 CAD - $142,900.00 CAD
