Job purpose

Reporting to the Human Resources Team Supervisor, the jobholder will be responsible for the entire payroll process for all Group sites (Quebec and Ontario), as well as the administrative management of various benefits programs.

Responsibilities

  • Perform the entire payroll process in accordance with internal policies and applicable laws for all Group sites (process payroll, produce employment statements, prepare and process monthly remittances and special entries) ;
  • Validate, maintain, and ensure the accuracy of employee records in the human resources information system (WorkForce, now ADP) ;
  • Produce various reports and tables for managers and executives ;
  • Administer group insurance and RRSP programs (enrollment, changes, termination, calculations, arrears, premium adjustments, validation, billing, etc.) and answer employee questions ;
  • Administer various benefits programs (uniforms, safety boots, safety glasses, etc.) ;
  • Produce and balance year-end documents and reports related to the payroll process (vacation, T4/RL1, summaries, CNESST, WSIB, EHT, etc.) ;
  • Answer various questions about company policies and procedures;
  • Participate in the implementation of policies and procedures;
  • Have an interest in developing modules in an HRIS (an plus) ;
  • Provide support to the HR team ;
  • Perform all other related tasks.

Requested skills

Job requirements

Education required :

  • DCS/DVS in accounting, administration, or equivalent experience

Technical skills :

  • 1-3 years of relevant experience related to the position ;
  • Experience with a payroll system (WorkForce now ADP, a plus) ;
  • Fluency in French and professional English ;
  • Knowledge of Excel.

Personal skills :

  • Attention to detail and thoroughness ;
  • Proactive, independent, and demonstrate good judgment ;
  • Professionalism and strict confidentiality ;
  • Comfortable in a constantly changing environment.
