Purpose of the position

The incumbent will have the main role of carrying out all the cutting activities of the various raw materials (Metal, Steel, Aluminum, etc.) according to the dimensions required by the purchase orders. He is called upon to use the proper machine tools to cut the material.

Responsibilities

• From the work order, obtain informations in the computer system about the available inventory to carry out cutting operations and then place or remove raw material in the warehouse ;
• Check whether the goods sent and received are in accordance with the orders or delivery notes as well as the related documents ;
• Adjust and operate the various machine tools required for the different cutting stages ;
• Use all types of saws (vertical, horizontal, circular) that are used in the cutting department ;
• Use the shears to cut the sheet metal as required ;
• Perform routine maintenance of machinery and equipment ;
• Use the ERP system or any other software necessary for his/her work to enter stock receipt data and others ;
• Place the goods and fill the raw material ;
• Forward items to the internal departments concerned ;
• Assist in unloading trucks using a forklift ;
• Do the cyclical count ;
• Perform all other related tasks.

Job Requirements

Education Requirements

• High school diploma (DES) ;
• 1-2 years of relevant experience ;
• Relevant diploma of professionnal studies (DEP) is an asset.

Technical skills

• Forklift driving qualification ;
• Skills in mathematics, calculation and measurement ;
• Ability to read plans and drawings ;
• Knowledge of different cutting tools ;
• Knowledge of the raw material ;
• Knowledge of a/s 9100D standards ;
• Excellent proficiency in French (spoken and written). Knowledge of English is considered an asset
