Purpose of the Position

Reporting to the Methods Supervisor, the individual develops and writes manufacturing ranges for aircraft maintenance tooling in accordance with customer requirements and specifications, industry standards and company standards, while optimising production costs, output and work methods.

Responsibilities:

  • Analysing technical drawings, interpreting and validating requirements;
  • Developing manufacturing steps;
  • If required, 3D modelling of tools and sub-components (CATIA V5);
  • Producing visual aids for machining, assembly and inspection;
  • Drafting manufacturing and assembly routings;
  • Establishing and defining the manufacturing range as a team with the programmers;
  • Providing technical support for plant operations;
  • Keeping up to date of new developments and processes in the aeronautical industry;
  • Working closely with all departments;
  • Participating in the design of in-house tooling.

Job requirements

Education required

  • DEC in mechanical engineering; or
  • BAC in mechanical or aeronautical engineering; or
  • Any other professional training combined with relevant experience may be considered.

Technical skills

  • Minimum of 3 years' relevant experience in the aerospace, manufacturing or precision manufacturing industry ;
  • Proficiency in Catia v5 software.
  • Excellent proficiency in French (spoken and written), along with functional proficiency in written English, is required to read and understand technical documentation provided by suppliers located outside Quebec

Personal skills

  • Organisational skills, analytical mind and ingenuity ;
  • Good problem-solving skills ;
  • Results-oriented and customer-oriented ;
  • Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines.
