Director of Facilities and Property Protection

JOB SUMMARY:

The Director of Facilities and Property Protection reports to the Corporate Director of Infrastructures. The director is responsible for the planning and coordination of facilities management services and property protection throughout Vitalité Health Network in accordance with the Provincial Health Plan, the Regional Health and Business Plan, and the Network’s Strategic Plan. The director identifies and implements best practices to standardize these across the Network’s various points of service.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • University degree (bachelor’s) or college diploma in engineering (civil, electrical, mechanical, construction), architecture or another field deemed relevant;
  • Certification in project management (PMP) is an asset;
  • Eight to ten years’ experience in a multi-site facilities management position as well as in renovation and construction planning and management;
  • Experience in hospital facilities considered an asset;
  • A combination of training and experience deemed equivalent may be considered;
  • Proven transformational leadership ability;
  • Ability to set priorities and meet objectives;
  • Strong operation management skills;
  • Ability to manage numerous projects/tasks simultaneously, understanding of the organization’s needs and priorities;
  • Analytical, writing and synthesis skills;
  • Ability to mobilize work teams to achieve a common goal;
  • Ability to use common computer tools (Meditech, Microsoft Office Suite);
  • Thorough knowledge of the standards and legislation related to construction, renovations, etc.
  • Valid driver’s licence and access to a vehicle, since travel will be required;
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member;
  • Physical ability to perform assigned duties;
  • Good previous work history (performance and attendance);
  • Adherence to professional ethics principles, to the Network management philosophy and organizational values;
  • Compliance with the rules of confidentiality established by the Vitalité Health Network.
