Director, Health, Wellness and Development

JOB SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Vice-President of Employee Experience, the director leads the development, delivery and transformation of health, wellness and staff development services and programs to enhance the workplace experience and contribute to Vitalité Health Network’s performance in delivering its services and achieving its strategic priorities.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSABILITIES:

  • Lead the management team in the delivery and continuous improvement of programs, activities and processes in occupational health and safety, wellness, training and development;
  • Ensure that the sector's activities are aligned with the Network's strategic orientations and priorities;
  • Act as a strategic partner to the President and CEO, the Vice-President of Employee Experience and the Leadership Team;
  • Create and maintain an employee orientation within its management, focusing on quality, continuous improvement and performance;
  • Practise leadership in accordance with the Network’s values;
  • Develop best practice initiatives for key policies and programs related to employee health, wellness and development and oversee their implementation;
  • Act as a change agent to communicate new processes and facilitate successful process, behavioral and cultural change;
  • Establish and maintain positive cross-functional relationships throughout the organization in order to understand organizational needs and provide effective and efficient solutions.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Undergraduate university degree;
  • The Bachelor's or Master's degree in human resources management is a definitive asset;
  • Experience – 10 to 15 years of progressive HR experience leading teams and delivering services to customers, master's degree in a relevant field, demonstrated experience in an HR transformation leadership role. Any combination of training and experience deemed equivalent could be taken into consideration;
  • Solid interpersonal and communication competencies with the demonstrated ability to win the confidence and respect of employees, senior management and direct/indirect subordinates;
  • Manager worthy of confidence with a reputation for fairness, professionalism, reliability and adherence to high ethical standards;
  • Allows others to organize themselves and to perform;
  • Fosters a sense of connection, belonging and humility;
  • Demonstrates openness to new ideas and fosters organizational learning;
  • Fosters their own growth and that of their team;
  • Demonstrates managerial courage.
  • Ability to analyze and resolve problems as well as to analyze and understand issues with long-term repercussions on the sector and the entire organization.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member;
  • Physical ability to perform assigned duties;
  • Good previous work history (performance and attendance);
  • Adherence to professional ethics principles, to the Network management philosophy and organizational values;
  • Compliance with the rules of confidentiality established by the Vitalité Health Network.
