Department mission
The mission of the Culture, Sports, Leisure and Community Development Department is to improve quality of life by promoting accessibility, participation, and integration of all citizens through the provision of excellent community, cultural, sports and recreational facilities, activities, and services.
The Pointe-Claire Swim Club has been a leader in Canadian swimming for more than 30 years. A large number or world record holders and Olympic medallists got their start in the City of Pointe-Claire. More than 400 swimmers take part in our program.
Responsibilities and goals associated with the position
Reporting to the Head Coach, the incumbent will be responsible for the athletes in his or her group and for teaching the appropriate program. He or she will develop training session plans with his or her supervisor. He or she will assist athletes during competitions and participate in organizing team activities.
The jobholder’s main responsibilities are as follows:
- Participate in the organization of the training sessions;
- Plan adapted training sessions;
- Teach the appropriate swimming techniques;
- Establish and plan training sessions;
- Training and preparing athletes for competitions;
- Ensure the safety of all swimmers;
- Complete evaluations according to the program;
- Communicate with parents and clients as required;
- Performing any other related tasks.
9.5 hours per week.Monday, Thursday & Friday 5:30 p.m.to 8:00 p.m. Posting dates
