VP Engineering to support client in the PropTech/Saas Indsutry

Location: Toronto, ON

1 Day a week In Office

• Lead and scale a people‑first engineering organization with a focus on trust, ownership, and growth
• Set clear engineering direction, priorities, and execution standards across the team
• Partner closely with the CEO and leadership team to translate business goals into technical strategy
• Own engineering roadmap execution, delivery timelines, and overall technical quality
• Guide architecture and technical decision‑making without coding day‑to‑day
• Establish strong engineering processes that balance speed, quality, and sustainability
• Support hiring, coaching, and performance development across the engineering team
• Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and board‑level audiences
• Champion thoughtful adoption of new technologies, including AI tools and workflows
• Ensure the platform is scalable, reliable, and positioned for long‑term growth

• 10+ years of engineering experience with senior leadership responsibility
• Proven experience leading engineering teams in a SaaS environment
• Strong blend of people leadership, technical depth, and business mindset
• Track record of building and scaling healthy, high‑performing engineering teams
• Experience owning architecture, delivery, and execution-not purely product‑led roles
• Ability to operate at both strategic and tactical levels
• Comfortable communicating with executives, stakeholders, and boards
• Startup or scale‑up experience in fast‑moving environments
• Enough technical fluency to guide the team without being hands‑on daily
• Exposure to AI tools and modern engineering practices

• Experience in PropTech or adjacent vertical SaaS domains
• Familiarity with modern web stacks (e.g., React, Node)
• Experience leading hybrid or distributed engineering teams
• Prior experience scaling teams through growth or toward profitability
• Exposure to exit‑driven environments or revenue‑focused organizations
• Strong interest in AI adoption and future‑facing platform evolution
