A career as an assistant vice president commercial / assistant vice president commerciale in the Commercial Banking team at National Bank means acting as a strategic leader and business partner for the condominium portfolio. This role allows you to have a positive impact on our organization by combining business development, credit expertise, risk management, and team leadership to support long-term, sustainable growth.
In this role, you focus on understanding client realities, guiding your team through complex financing solutions, and ensuring disciplined execution aligned with the Bank’s risk culture. You contribute directly to portfolio performance while helping your team members grow professionally and deliver meaningful value to clients.
Your role:
- Lead a team of account managers and credit specialists by setting clear priorities, performance expectations, and development objectives
- Develop and execute business growth strategies to improve efficiency, productivity, profitability, and market penetration within the condominium sector
- Define and implement a market and annual business plan in collaboration with internal partners, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives
- Build and maintain strong, long-term client relationships through acquisition, retention, and value‑added advisory activities
- Ensure compliance with credit, operational risk, and regulatory requirements while maintaining strong monitoring and control practices
- Act as a representative of National Bank within the condominium and property management ecosystem by strengthening partnerships and industry presence

Within the Commercial Banking sector, you are part of a multidisciplinary team supporting commercial clients across Ontario. You report to a Regional Vice President and collaborate closely with experts in credit, products, risk, and operations. Your team stands out for its expertise, collaboration, and commitment to delivering high‑quality, client‑focused solutions. Requirements:
- Hold a bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, or a master’s degree with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience
- Demonstrate extensive experience with commercial clients, including complex financing structures and credit risk analysis
- Have proven experience leading teams, including performance management and professional development
- Show strong expertise in business development, market coverage, and strategic planning
- Possess solid experience in negotiation and complex client discussions
- Demonstrate strong proficiency with sales and performance management tools
