Our client is looking for a Sr. Solution Architect to support our client through phase 1 of an ERP RFI Project.

Overview:

Our client is currently in the Request for Information (RFI) phase of its ERP System Selection initiative. This phase is focused on evaluating Tier 1 ERP platforms (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics, Infor Syteline) and identifying strategic partners with heavy equipment experience. The Solution Architect will support the RFI process by shaping architectural requirements, evaluating vendor capabilities, and ensuring alignment with future-state business needs.

Must Have's:

- 8+ years in solution architecture, with direct experience in ERP system evaluations or transitions.

- Familiarity with Gartner-led RFI processes and capability mapping frameworks.

- Strong understanding of ERP systems, accompanying applications and transition risks.

- Experience with architectural documentation, vendor engagement, and enterprise integration planning

- Excellent communication and stakeholder alignment skills

Nice to Have's:

- Experience in the heavy equipment or industrial services sector.

- Knowledge of ERP vendor ecosystems and Tier 1 platforms.

- Certification in TOGAF, AWS/Azure Architecture, or equivalent.

Responsibilities:

- Define and document architectural requirements for ERP capabilities across service, finance, parts, Sales, warehousing/supply chain, remanufacturing rental, and eCommerce domains.

- Evaluate current ERP ancillary applications and compare them to new ERP solution for potential replacements/consolidation

- Collaborate with Gartner consultants and internal SMEs to build the Traceability Matrix and capability maps.

- Participate in vendor evaluation sessions, including demos and proposal reviews, to assess architectural fit and scalability.

- Support the development of the RFI package, including technical requirements, integration expectations, and data architecture considerations.

- Advise on risks related to legacy systems (e.g., Extend ERP, custom integrations), including support limitations and customization impacts.

- Contribute to the business case and architectural governance discussions with the steering committee.

Additional Deliverables:

- Architectural requirements documentation for RFI package.

- Capability maps and traceability matrix inputs.

- Evaluation summaries and recommendations from vendor demos.

- Risk assessments and mitigation strategies related to architectural fit.

- Contributions to the ERP RFI business case and governance presentations.
