Description
Our client is looking for a Sr. Business Analyst to support the EPMO, business and technology initiatives across our energy operations.
Overview
This role partners closely with business stakeholders, operational teams, and IT to facilitate discussions, define business processes, and translate complex needs into clear, actionable documentation. The ideal candidate is a strong facilitator, an excellent communicator, and highly skilled at documenting current- and future-state processes in regulated, operationally complex environments. Open to working on multiple initiatives.
Must Have's:
- 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, with senior-level responsibilities
- Demonstrated strength in meeting facilitation and stakeholder management
- Process automation
- Strong experience defining, analyzing, and documenting business processes
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience working in complex, regulated environments (energy, utilities, oil & gas, or similar preferred)
Responsibilities
Stakeholder Engagement & Facilitation
· Lead and facilitate stakeholder meetings, workshops, and working sessions to elicit, analyze, and validate business process & requirements
· Act as a trusted liaison between business units, operations, and technical teams
· Drive alignment across diverse stakeholder groups, including operations, regulatory, finance, engineering, and IT
Business Analysis & Requirements
· Elicit, document, and manage business, functional, and non-functional requirements
· Translate business needs into clear requirements, user stories, process flows, and use cases
· Ensure requirements are complete, traceable, and aligned with business objectives
Process Definition & Documentation
· Analyze and document current-state (as-is) business processes and workflows
· Design and document future-state (to-be) processes, identifying gaps, risks, and improvement opportunities
· Develop high-quality process maps, SOPs, and supporting documentation
· Support process standardization and optimization initiatives
Communication & Documentation
· Produce clear, concise, and well-structured documentation suitable for both business and technical audiences
· Maintain requirements and process documentation throughout the project lifecycle
· Present findings, recommendations, and status updates to stakeholders and leadership
Project & Initiative Support
· Support project planning, reporting, presentation development, scope definition, scope management, and change management activities
· Assist with solution validation, user acceptance testing (UAT), and implementation support
· Ensure solutions align with regulatory, safety, and operational requirements common in the energy sector
Preferred Qualifications
· Experience in the energy or utilities industry
· Familiarity with process modeling tools (e.g., Visio)
· Experience with Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery methodologies
