Our valued public sector client is hiring a Senior Network Support Specialist to provide operational support, monitoring, and maintenance of distributed WAN/LAN environments.

Background:

The organization is looking for a consultant to provide operational support to a large, distributed enterprise network environment experiencing a temporary increase in workload. The consultant will assist the network operations team with monitoring, maintenance, and implementation of approved changes across multiple interconnected networks. This role focuses on reliable daily operations, routine administration, and adherence to established security and configuration standards.

Tasks:

• Perform installation, configuration, and routine administration of network infrastructure, including routers, switches, and points-of-presence.
• Monitor network performance, identify issues, and support resolution of operational incidents.
• Apply approved configuration changes to maintain network stability and security.
• Assist with configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of WANs and LANs.
• Work with core networking components such as VLANs, multicast/unicast operations, routing protocols, GRE tunnels, and access control lists.
• Support authentication and access control systems and participate in preventive maintenance and optimization tasks.
• Provide basic support for VoIP systems as required.
• Produce and maintain technical documentation, including network diagrams, equipment layouts, and configuration records.
