Description
Our energy client is seeking three Senior Data Specialists (Data Scientist/ Machine Learning) to lead statistical analysis, modeling, and Big Data capability rollout.
Join a high-visibility AI initiative focused on accelerating experimentation and de-risking strategic investments across the organization. This role drives end-to-end model development from hypothesis testing through production deployment to inform key business decisions. The positions offers impact, ownership, and collaboration with cross-functional engineering, analytics, and data science teams in a fast-paced environment.
Duration: 1-year initial contract with a strong possibility of extension
Model: Hybrid working model (3 days onsite/ 2 days remote)
Position # 1: Data Scientist
- Overview: Support statistical analysis, modeling, and lead the roll-out of Big Data capabilities. Design, create, test, and implement models through algorithms that drive analytical products throughout the organization. Work with Data Engineers and SMEs to understand raw data and/or create engineered features that improve model performance.
Position # 2: Machine Learning Specialist
- Overview: Build and optimize ML models and data pipelines. Design and implement operational aspects of model deployment including automation, monitoring, drift detection, and similar.
Position # 3: Data Engineer
- Overview: Perform ETL/ELT of data from a variety of sources in AWS. Implement data pipelines to support stream and batch processing. Build and improve the infrastructure for ingesting, storing, and transforming data for advanced analytical workflows.
Must Haves
- 10+ years in data analytics and data science including statistical modeling
- Strong proficiency in Python and SQL for data-wrangling, feature engineering, and hypothesis testing
- Strong experience with AWS and AWS data pipelines
- Practical experience delivering machine learning models into production on AWS
- Hands-on background designing and implementing predictive analytics and classification models
Nice to Have
- Experience with AWS SageMaker and algorithm tuning
- Familiarity with Databricks or rapid prototyping environments
Responsibilities
- Design, build, test, and implement machine learning models and algorithms supporting enterprise analytics
- Lead statistical analysis and modeling projects that inform major investment and operational decisions
- Collaborate with Data Engineers to integrate, transform, and prepare datasets for analytical workflows
- Develop and deploy end-to-end machine learning pipelines within AWS environments
- Interpret and communicate analytical results to stakeholders using visualizations and insights
- Apply and promote advanced analytics and data science practices across multiple business units
- Support rapid experimentation and MVP delivery for artificial intelligence use cases
