Description
Our client is seeking a Intermediate IT Project Manager to assist with coordinating, documenting, and driving completion of technology projects, including M&A and integration of AI into various business functions.
Calgary-based office. Candidates will be in-office 3 days/week and WFH 2 days/week.
Must haves:
- 4+ years of experience as a IT Project Manager or Project Coordinator with a focus on Business Analyst activities (Requirements gathering, process/workflows, acceptance criteria)
- Experience coordinating cross-functional business system projects (Syspro ERP, Salesforce/Expedite Commerce, Codeless BPA)
- Experience working with external vendors, consultants, or contractors.
- Experience with documentation, organization, meeting facilitation, and follow-up skills.
- Experience with Power BI, data models, dashboards, or reporting projects
- Familiarity with ERP, CRM, HRIS, reporting, workflow automation, or integration platforms.
Strong Nice-to-haves:
- Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Experience in manufacturing, industrial technology, SaaS, IoT, or multi-entity business environments.
- Familiarity with UAT, data mapping, process mapping, change management, and system implementation lifecycles.
- PMP, CAPM, Agile, Scrum, ITIL, Lean, or business analysis certification would be an asset, but is not required.
Responsibilities:
- Project Coordination and Delivery - Coordinate internal IT and business system projects from initiation through completion.
- Business Systems Documentation - Create and maintain documentation for internal business system projects, including requirements, workflows, data flows, configuration decisions, integrations, testing results, and support handoff notes.
- Vendor and Contractor Coordination - Act as the primary coordination point for external contractors, consultants, vendors, and implementation partners.
- Requirements Gathering and Process Improvement - Translate business needs into actionable project tasks, system requirements, workflow diagrams, and acceptance criteria.
- Reporting and Management Communication - Prepare concise summaries of project progress, risks, decisions required, and upcoming milestones.
Success measures:
- Internal IT projects are consistently documented, tracked, and completed.
- Stakeholders have clear visibility into project status, risks, and decisions required.
- External contractors have clear scope, deliverables, and internal points of contact.
- Project documentation is complete enough to support future maintenance, training, and audits.
- Business users are properly engaged in requirements, testing, and go-live readiness.
- Fewer projects stall due to unclear ownership, missing documentation, or poor coordination.
- Business system improvements support better reporting, workflow efficiency, automation, and user adoption.
- Internal knowledge is retained and less dependent on single individuals.
