Our non-profit client is seeking a Director of Information Technology to lead enterprise systems modernization, cloud infrastructure, and governance initiatives

Join a well-established, mission-driven organization in Calgary driving technology transformation to support operational excellence and business growth. This newly created leadership role defines enterprise IT direction across Azure, Microsoft 365, identity, cybersecurity, and ERP environments. Working closely with the VP of Finance, you’ll modernize infrastructure, strengthen governance, and enhance resilience while shaping the future of IT strategy. The position offers both strategic and hands-on scope to build a high-performing, secure, and scalable environment.

Must Haves

  • 5+ years in a middle to senior management role including enterprise systems modernization, infrastructure, and service delivery
  • Expertise across Azure, Microsoft 365, and Entra ID with understanding of cloud strategy and governance
  • Experience managing ERP environments or large-scale enterprise application implementations
  • Background in cybersecurity, identity and access management, and policy governance
  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, or related field

Nice to Have

  • Graduate degree or relevant industry certifications
  • Experience leading modernization in regulated or unionized environments
  • Familiarity with business process improvement and reporting
  • Exposure to cybersecurity and risk awareness programs

Responsibilities

  • Set direction for enterprise technology strategy, governance, and modernization
  • Lead cloud, infrastructure, and modern workplace initiatives across Azure and Microsoft platforms
  • Oversee enterprise systems, company websites, and portals for performance and scalability
  • Establish and mature IT service management frameworks for incident, change, and asset management
  • Develop cybersecurity and risk management strategies to strengthen resilience
  • Implement IT policies, standards, and governance frameworks aligned with business requirements
  • Manage IT budgeting, vendor relationships, and chargeback models supporting financial transparency
