About Brucejack

Our Brucejack Gold Mine, a high-grade underground mine in beautiful northern British Columbia, is located approximately 65 kilometres north of Stewart. Brucejack is a fly-in/fly-out operation with pick-up points across Western Canada, making it easy for people from different places to join us. We work closely with local First Nations communities including the Nisga’a, Tahltan, Gitanyow, and Gitxsan, to build respectful partnerships and celebrate our shared community.

Your Impact

As a Planner Asset Management at Brucejack, you will be instrumental in minimizing equipment downtime and enhancing operational safety and efficiency through strategic maintenance planning. By ensuring equipment and resources are prepared and available, you will help streamline work order execution and support proactive maintenance practices.

This position specifically focuses on fleet maintenance, with a strong emphasis on planning for heavy mobile equipment across both surface and underground operations

As Part of Our Team, You Will

Safety is the number one priority in all activities.

  • Support the development of the maintenance system in SAP, aligning with industry best practices.
  • Create and maintain Maintenance Standard Tasks (MSTs) and Bill of Materials (BOMs) to drive effective maintenance execution.
  • Ensure the maintenance system enables work order issuance, PM scheduling, workload tracking, and spare parts readiness.
  • Review and screen incoming work orders, define scope, and determine required planning level.
  • Estimate labor hours for tasks and total job duration.
  • Plan jobs in appropriate detail for skilled trades teams, ensuring clarity and completeness.
  • Identify and procure necessary tools, equipment, and materials to support task execution.
  • Collect and prepare technical documentation, specifications, and drawings.
  • Plan and kit parts to enable proactive maintenance and minimize downtime.
  • Assemble job packages for the trades team, ensuring all steps are clearly communicated to supervisors.
  • Coordinate with operations and maintenance to prioritize upcoming work.
  • Identify job-specific safety hazards and support implementation of controls to perform work safely.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Ensure all work plans integrate existing safety policies and risk controls.
  • Gather post-job feedback from trades to improve future planning and execution.
  • Support asset risk management through condition monitoring, troubleshooting, and repair-or-replace recommendations.
  • Maintain accurate equipment histories and repair documentation.
  • Develop clear, concise, and practical work procedures.
Prerequisites for Your Success in This Role
  • Red Seal in Heavy Duty Equipment Technician preferred
  • Other Red Seal trades or Engineering backgrounds will be considered
  • Demonstrated experience in fleet maintenance planning, with a focus on both surface and underground heavy equipment
  • Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office applications
  • Solid understanding of maintenance planning principles and reliability-centered maintenance
  • CMRP (Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional) or MMP (Maintenance Management Professional) designation is an asset
  • Strong communication, organizational, and administrative skills
Your Work Environment
  • Location: Brucejack Mine (fly in/fly out)
  • Schedule: 14 days on,14 days off
  • Conditions: Industrial warehouse and underground environments; PPE required
  • Additional: Must pass a pre-employment medical and drug/alcohol screening. Newmont promotes a drug- and alcohol-free work environment.

The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience.
