Purpose

As a Nurse at Newmont, you’ll play a vital role in safeguarding the health and wellbeing of our workforce by delivering both emergency and routine medical care, promoting wellness, and supporting a safe workplace.

As part of our team you will
  • Deliver routine and emergency medical care to team members, including administering medications, treating injuries, and handling chronic conditions
  • Execute health assessments and screenings, monitoring team member health status, and identifying potential health issues early for intervention
  • Support team members on health and wellness topics, including disease prevention, healthy lifestyle choices, and proper use of personal protective equipment, PPE
  • Maintain accurate and confidential medical records, documenting all treatments, health assessments, and medical incidents for compliance and follow-up care
  • Liaise with other healthcare guides, such as physicians and paramedics, to ensure comprehensive care and effective response to medical emergencies on site
  • Ensure proper management of medications, including narcotics.
  • Liaise with site health and safety in the management of occupational related injury and illnesses.
Prerequisites for your success in this role
  • Registered Nurse designation (remote or advanced practice certification preferred)
  • Occupational Health Nurse certification is an asset
  • Proficiency in medical triage, treatment, and emergency response
  • Understanding of health regulations, incident management, and fitness-for-work processes
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to manage medication inventory and medical documentation system

The expected salary range for this role is CA$83,000-$111,000 . This range is tied to the British Columbia market for jobs performed in British Columbia. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience. The salary offer will not be based on a candidate’s pay history at other jobs, and by law, Newmont will not seek information about pay history, and candidates should not share such information with Newmont.
