About Red Chris
Our Red Chris Mine, located in the heart of Northern British Columbia on the traditional territory of the Tahltan Nation. A short distance from Iskut and Dease Lake, Our fly-in, fly-out site offers access from various points across British Columbia and Alberta. Red Chris currently operates as an open-pit copper and gold mine with a promising future to transition to a high-value underground block cave operation. Play a critical role in enabling safe, compliant, and efficient mining operations by ensuring all permitting processes are executed effectively. You will help safeguard people, the environment, and project timelines by supporting best-in-class governance and regulatory compliance.
- Coordinate and administer Permit to Work (PTW) systems for safe site access
- Ensure timely review and issuance of permits across mining and construction activities
- Facilitate mapping and planning processes, including identifying work areas and permit requirements
- Verify documentation such as risk assessments, isolation plans, and lifting procedures
- Monitor compliance with PTW requirements through inspections, audits, and site interactions
- Maintain accurate records and support reporting requirements
- Identify and escalate safety risks or process gaps
- Support continuous improvement of PTW systems and practices
- Experience in permitting, operations, mining, or industrial environments
- Strong understanding of safety systems and risk management processes
- High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Effective communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to interpret technical documentation and procedures

The expected hourly rate for this role is CA$81,100 - 101,400 . This range is tied to the British Columbia market for jobs performed in British Columbia. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience. The salary offer will not be based on a candidate’s pay history at other jobs, and by law, Newmont will not seek information about pay history, and candidates should not share such information with Newmont.
