As the Interim Advisor, Fixed Plant Maintenance Training (Fixed Term - 6 Months), you will be essential in developing a safe, skilled, and competent maintenance workforce. By leading the design and delivery of competency-based training programs, you will directly support safe and consistent execution of maintenance activities across the site. This frontline-focused role helps onboard new workers, enhance trade-specific skills, and ensure compliance with training standards in a dynamic plant environment.
- Develop and implement role-specific, competency-based training programs for all Fixed Plant Maintenance personnel
- Deliver field-based training through demonstrations, mentoring, coaching, and formal assessments
- Conduct onboarding activities for new maintenance employees, including site tours, safety orientations, and verification of competency (VOCs)
- Instruct department-specific training modules covering plant systems, tooling, and safety procedures
- Support apprenticeship development through one-on-one coaching, mentoring, and progress evaluations
- Collaborate closely with Maintenance Supervisors and the Team Lead for Mill Training to ensure alignment of training initiatives with operational priorities
- Maintain detailed training records and track individual progress using the Learning Management System (MyLearning)
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of training materials, SOPs, and internal standards
- Provide technical support during real-time maintenance work, reinforcing best practices and enabling just-in-time learning
- Lead by example, promoting a culture of safety, inclusion, accountability, and ongoing learning across all levels of the maintenance workforce
- Regularly report on compliance, competency development, and training outcomes to department leadership
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a hands-on maintenance role, ideally within a fixed plant, processing, or industrial setting
- Red Seal Certification in a relevant trade (Millwright and Welding)
- Proven experience delivering training in a frontline or technical environment, including coaching and assessment
- Familiarity with safe work practices, equipment-specific protocols, and preventative maintenance systems
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams)
- Experience with Learning Management Systems (SAP/MyLearning) considered an asset
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to coach and influence diverse learners
- Ability to work independently in field-based conditions for extended periods
- A mindset grounded in safety leadership, operational discipline, and continuous improvement
Location: Red Chris Mine (fly-in/fly-out role)
Rotation: 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off
Conditions: Onsite in a remote, industrial mining environment
Contract Type: This is a fixed-term position for 6 months. This role offers an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to our operations during a key project period!

The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience.
