About Brucejack

Our Brucejack Gold Mine, a high-grade underground mine in beautiful northern British Columbia, is located approximately 65 kilometres north of Stewart. Brucejack is a fly-in/fly-out operation with pick-up points across Western Canada, making it easy for people from different places to join us. We work closely with local First Nations communities including the Nisga’a, Tahltan, Gitanyow, and Gitxsan, to build respectful partnerships and celebrate our shared community.

Your Impact

As a Heavy Duty Mechanic Lead Hand at our Brucejack Knipple Camp, you’ll play a key role in maintaining critical mobile equipment while supporting and guiding maintenance technicians on-site. Your technical expertise and leadership will help ensure the safety, reliability, and performance of our fleet in an underground mining environment.

As Part of Our Team You Will
  • Lead the maintenance crew in the supervisor’s absence
  • Oversee technicians, welders, and labourers in mobile maintenance
  • Provide hands-on diagnostics and repair of diesel and gasoline-powered heavy equipment
  • Perform inspections, testing, and adjustments to meet manufacturer specs
  • Assist with equipment data entry, record keeping, and routine maintenance scheduling
  • Support compliance with safety and environmental policies
  • Participate in on-site mechanical support and collaborate with operational teams
Prerequisites for Your Success in This Role
  • Interprovincial Red Seal Certification for Heavy Duty Equipment Technician
  • 5 years’ experience maintaining diesel/gasoline mobile and stationary equipment, ideally in mining
  • Strong troubleshooting and operating skills on site equipment
  • Experience with underground mobile equipment and/or snow cat maintenance is an asset
  • Proficiency with SAP and equipment data systems
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license
  • WHMIS and TDG certification
Your Work Environment

Location: Brucejack Knipple Camp (fly-in/fly-out)

Schedule: Rotational (typically 13 days on / 13 days off + travel)

Conditions: Underground and surface mining environment with exposure to diesel equipment, extreme weather, and confined spaces

Additional: Must pass a pre-employment medical and drug/alcohol screening. Newmont promotes a drug- and alcohol-free work environment.
