Our Red Chris Mine, located in the heart of Northern British Columbia on the traditional territory of the Tahltan Nation. A short distance from Iskut and Dease Lake, Our fly-in, fly-out site offers access from various points across British Columbia and Alberta. As the Project Commercial Director, you will be accountable for leading project commercial for the Red Chris Block Cave Project from definitive feasibility through to execution. This is a senior commercial leadership position and will play a critical role in helping Newmont achieve its project goals and objectives. This position is based in Vancovuer, BC with travel to site as required.
- Direct and own all project commercial staffing ensuring accountability and direct line responsibility while providing mentoring, training and development
- Develop and execute fit-for-purpose contracting and procurement strategies in alignment with project goals and objectives
- Lead and manage all project commercial disciplines including procurement, contracting, materials management, and logistics
- Build and manage strategic relationships with key project suppliers and contractors who play a critical role in the execution of the project
- Oversee the contract lifecycle process from pre-award through to post-award and contract close-out
- Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities across the project lifecycle
- Report to the General Manager, Red Chris Block Cave Project for day-to-day execution and functionally to the Head of Project commercial
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction, Business Administration, Law, Supply Chain or equivalent
- 10+ years' of capital project experience in various commercial capacities
- Expertise in procurement, contract negotiation, logistics, and materials management for large-scale capital projects
- Experience with various project execution strategies (e.g., EPCM, EPC, IMT, etc.), contract types (e.g., unit rate, lump sum, cost reimbursable, target contract price, etc.) and strategies (e.g., competitive bid, sole source, early contractor involvement, alliances)
- Demonstrated experience managing high-performing teams with an ability to influence, mentor and develop
You’ll work in a dynamic, fast-paced global environment with cross-functional teams and senior leaders. Travel to the project site as needed / required.

The expected salary range for this role is CA$149,900 - $214,200 with an additional 30% Short Term and 25% Long Term incentives . This range is tied to the British Columbia market for jobs performed in British Columbia. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience. The salary offer will not be based on a candidate’s pay history at other jobs, and by law, Newmont will not seek information about pay history, and candidates should not share such information with Newmont.
