Description
As Senior Director, Corporate Collection and Recovery, you will support employees in developing their potential to contribute to the customer experience while limiting the credit risk of commercial loans.
Your role
- Manage the credit risk of the formerly CWB distressed commercial loan portfolio in recovery and collections, adhering to established policies, standards and procedures to protect the Bank's interests and limit credit losses
- Optimize day-to-day operations to maximize profitability and drive efficiencies
- Sit on governance committees and influence decisions to minimize losses and protect the interests of the Bank
- Monitor and manage the performance of external stakeholders involved in collection and recovery activities.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge and that of your team members while remaining abreast of changes in legislation and regulations related to collection activities and loan insurers
- Maintain excellent business relationships with business partners to mitigate credit losses and reputational risks.
Your team
You will report to the Senior Director SGPR and you will be responsible for a team of 6 people responsible for managing recovery and collection activities, but the practice of this position is likely to evolve in the coming year.
Prerequisite
- Industry-related bachelor's degree and 10 years of relevant experience or industry-related master's degree and 7 years of relevant experience
- CPA accounting designation, desirable
- Experience in credit and operational risk management as well as in the management of commercial recovery and recovery files
- Ability to build, align, coach and mobilize high-performing and diverse teams and be a recognized manager in rallying stakeholders towards the achievement of business objectives
- Excellent decision-making (Risk/Return) and critical thinking skills
- Negotiation and communication skills with employees, internal/external stakeholders and financial partners
- Bilingualism is mandatory as you will work mainly with employees and partners formerly CWB
