MAGroup Canada – Greater Toronto Area (Vaughan, Ontario)

MAGroup Canada is seeking a Financial Controller to join our growing international aerospace organization. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the successful candidate will play a key role in consolidating and analyzing financial information from two Canadian facilities, while contributing to the continuous improvement of the quality, consistency, and timeliness of financial reporting.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of financial statements, IFRS standards (particularly IFRS 15 and IFRS 16), management accounting, financial consolidations, reporting, and treasury management.

This position is based in Vaughan, Ontario, within the Greater Toronto Area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Consolidate and analyze financial data primarily from MAGroup Magnaghi Aerospace’s two (2) Canadian facilities.
  • Work closely with local management teams to support the development of budgets, financial forecasts, and short- and long-term planning initiatives.
  • Oversee the preparation of monthly financial reports, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
  • Coordinate effectively with local accounting teams to ensure the integrity and consistency of financial information.
  • Analyze financial results, identify variances, and provide meaningful insights to support decision-making.
  • Perform bank and financial reconciliations with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Actively participate in the preparation and completion of year-end financial reporting requirements.
  • Manage the asset valuation and amortization process.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, applicable accounting standards, and reporting requirements.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of financial processes, internal controls, and financial reporting tools.

Qualifications and Experience

  • CPA designation with minimum of 3 to 5 years of progressive experience in financial reporting or management accounting, ideally within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Experience with financial consolidations and multi-entity reporting.
  • Strong analytical skills, exceptional attention to detail, and a high level of accuracy.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders in a multi-site environment.
  • Experience with SAP is considered a strong asset.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.
  • Bilingualism (French and English) is required.
  • Availability to travel between production sites approximately 1 to 2 times per month.
