About the Role

As the Manager of Supply Chain Capacity Projection & Planning, you will lead the strategic and operational oversight of the team responsible for forecasting future supply chain capacity requirements and translating them into actionable planning and financial insights. This role is at the heart of enabling scalable, resilient, and cost-efficient supply chain operations.

You will oversee the development and optimization of advanced forecasting models, ensure alignment between volume forecasts and operational capacity, and drive collaboration across finance, merchandising, demand planning, and technology teams. Your leadership will help ensure that distribution center labor, storage, and transportation resources are proactively planned, budgeted, and aligned with business growth and strategic goals.

This is both a strategic leadership and hands-on management role, ideal for someone who can blend analytics, cross-functional coordination, and team development to drive supply chain performance.

Key Responsibilities

1. Team & Strategic Leadership

  • Lead, coach, and mentor a team of forecasting and planning analysts.
  • Define clear goals, KPIs, and career development plans for team members.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and cross-functional learning.
  • Lead & oversee the development, refinement, and validation of advanced capacity forecasting models leveraging AI/ML and statistical techniques.
  • Ensure and collaborate with data engineers and technology teams to scale models within enterprise platforms, enabling real-time updates and system-wide integration (TMS, WMS, JDA-Replenishment Systems).
  • Ensure that forecasting models accurately predict inbound, outbound, and inventory flows across the supply chain network.
  • Establish governance around model performance review, scenario analysis, and data integrity.

Capacity Planning Oversight

  • Translate long-range forecast outputs into strategic and tactical capacity plans for labor, storage, transportation, and network resources.
  • Drive long-term and seasonal capacity planning cycles in alignment with commercial and operational needs.
  • Guide the development of dashboards, planning tools, and risk mitigation frameworks.
  • Support strategic business cases for network expansion, automation, and process innovation by working in collaboration with Strategy Team

Financial Alignment & Budget Planning Ownership

  • Partner with Finance to build and validate the annual supply chain operational budget.
  • Align forecast outputs with P&L impacts, cost-to-serve modeling, and long-term mitigation plans
  • Provide executive-level insights into trade-offs between service, cost, and infrastructure investment.

Strategic Scenario Planning

  • Lead scenario planning sessions to stress-test network capabilities and assess impact of demand surges, disruptions, or strategic shifts.
  • Lead scenario modeling and sensitivity analysis to test business assumptions, evaluate potential disruptions, and simulate the impact of strategic decisions.
  • Drive "what-if" analyses for shifts in customer demand, product mix changes, or supply disruptions.
  • Translate model outputs into clear, data-driven recommendations for infrastructure strategy, peak readiness, and contingency planning.
  • Advise executive leadership on risk mitigation strategies based on scenario outcomes.

Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration

  • Act as a key liaison between Supply Chain, Finance, Merchandising, Demand Planning, and Systems teams.
  • Align planning initiatives with promotional calendars, buying strategies, and system development efforts.
  • Champion data governance and model scalability in collaboration with technology stakeholders.
  • Deliver strategic recommendations to senior leadership through data-driven storytelling and executive presentations.
  • Lead forecast review meetings, alignment sessions, and scenario planning workshops.
  • Ensure clarity and transparency of planning assumptions and risk assessments.

Model Improvement & Innovation

  • Identify opportunities for process automation, model enhancements, and technology adoption.
  • Stay informed on emerging trends in supply chain AI/ML, network optimization, and advanced analytics.
  • Implement best practices to elevate the maturity and efficiency of forecasting and planning processes.

What You Bring

Experience & Education

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in supply chain, operations research, Business Analytics, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in supply chain planning, analytics, or forecasting (with at least 2 years in a leadership or managerial role).
  • Experience managing or working closely with teams developing AI/ML projection models.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong leadership and team management skills with a focus on development and performance.
  • Deep knowledge of end-to-end supply chain operations and planning processes.
  • Familiarity with statistical models such as linear regression and time series
  • Advanced analytical acumen with proficiency in Excel, SQL, Python, or similar platforms.
  • Experience working with tools such as Blue Yonder (JDA), SAP IBP, Forecast Pro, Power BI, Visual Studio Code or power automate.
  • Excellent cross-functional communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Strategic, systems-thinking mindset with an ability to balance operational detail and executive-level insight.
