The Payroll and Social Benefits Specialist ensures rigorous, compliant, and efficient payroll processing for all of our client’s entities. They play a key role in supporting payroll operations within a context of growth, innovation, and continuous improvement.

As a subject-matter expert, they support managers and teams with all questions related to payroll and employee benefits. They contribute to data reliability, the quality of service provided to employees, and the optimization of administrative processes.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Relevant degree or accreditation (e.g., Payroll Compliance Practitioner—PCP)
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, including at least 3 years in year‑end processing
  • Strong command of French and English, both spoken and written
  • Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel (advanced level)
  • Knowledge of Desjardins or Nethris (an asset)

Main Responsibilities
  • Process the weekly payroll for a large volume of permanent, temporary, and hourly employees
  • Ensure the accuracy of data entered into the payroll management system
  • Participate in period-end activities: tax reporting, group insurance, work stoppages, etc.
  • Respond to inquiries from managers and employees regarding payroll, benefits, and pension plans
  • Collaborate on process‑improvement projects
  • Recommend enhancements aimed at increasing efficiency, reliability, and automation within payroll operations
  • Contribute to documenting procedures and keeping guides and manuals up to date
  • Perform any other tasks related to payroll administration
