Canada Games: Québec, 2027

As the largest amateur multi-sport competition in the country, the Canada Games bring together over 3,500 high calibre athletes and coaches in more than twenty disciplines. Alternating between summer and winter, every two years, they showcase the immense talent and perseverance of our champions. The winter edition of the Canada Games will take place in Quebec City from February 27 to March 14, 2027.

Your Role

The Canada Games 2027 are looking for a Coordinator, Fit out and Overlay to play a key role within the Sports and Venues team. Working closely with the Director, Sports and Venues, you will be responsible for developing detailed plans for all Games-related sites. This includes collecting, creating, coordinating, and updating layouts for both sport and non-sport venues used during the planning and delivery phases of the Games. You will also be tasked with managing contractor partnerships and overseeing site setup and teardown operations.


Your responsibilities :

  • Maintain and update CAD drawings of all venues using Bluebeam.
  • Work with Sports and Venues Coordinators to assign spaces and adjust plans to reflect Canada Games standards and operational planning.
  • Design client flow pathways, cable management routes, and utility corridors.
  • Collaborate with staff and volunteers to ensure compliance with the venue management plan.
  • Gather and assess the needs of various functional areas in terms of temporary installations, furniture, electricity, and AVL (audio, visual, lighting).
  • Plan temporary infrastructure and furnishings across all sport and non-sport venues.
  • Collaborate with the Site Planning and Logistics Committee to procure temporary infrastructure such as tents, toilets, trailers, seating, lighting, generators, etc.
  • Source suppliers to meet needs for temporary setups and furnishings.
  • Establish strong working relationships with suppliers, contractors, and venue managers to ensure efficiency, quality, and proper maintenance of services.
  • Ensure suppliers fulfill their contractual obligations and oversee maintenance and repairs when necessary.
  • Oversee the delivery, setup, take-down, and return of equipment and furniture for all sites.
  • Contribute to venue setup, maintenance, installation, and teardown processes.
  • Support volunteer venue teams during the Games and ensure the quality of site setups.
  • Fulfill all other duties as reasonably required.
 

Keys to success

Want to join our team? Here's what it takes:

  • College or technical diploma in event management, project management, civil engineering, or any other relevant field. A university degree is considered an asset.
  • 3 years of relevant experience in project management or sport event planning
  • Skills in temporary and/or event site setup
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
  • Experience in volunteer management and/or team leadership
  • Knowledge of the sport environment (an asset)
  • Fluent in French (written and spoken); working knowledge of English
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Criminal background check required
  • Authorization to work in Canada
 

Winning Profil

  • Experience creating and editing plans in AutoCAD and/or PDF editing software such as Bluebeam Revu (an asset)
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Creativity, initiative, and a results-oriented mindset
  • Ability to work well under pressure and remain calm
  • Team spirit and a positive attitude
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Strong attention to detail and a rigorous approach
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects efficiently
  • Experience with Google Workspace tools (Gmail, Docs, Slides, Calendar, etc.) is an asset
  • Basic knowledge of electrical systems (an asset)
  • Based in the Quebec City region or ready to relocate to be part of the adventure
  • Versatile and ready to move at the Games' pace, even outside office hours
