Purpose of the Position
Reporting to the Supervisor, Operations Management, the incumbent supports all IT-related and physical activities carried out in receiving, shipping, and stores. The role includes preparing raw materials for production and performing receiving and merchandise verification processes. The incumbent may also be required to perform various tasks related to production.
Responsibilities
- Maintain up-to-date records related to orders, including quantity, type of parts, consumables, and tooling available, as well as their storage locations, using manual or computerized systems;
- Perform transactions and movements of received goods in the computer system and ensure proper inventory management;
- Receive and ship merchandise and inspect contents by comparing relevant documents (e.g., receiving slips, purchase orders, certificates of conformity, etc.);
- Ensure receipt and transfer of raw materials;
- Store received materials in designated locations after receipt;
- Prepare, label, and package goods according to established procedures;
- Prepare parts orders for assembly;
- Identify parts and tooling using a label printer;
- Wear required safety equipment at all times to ensure work is carried out safely;
- Manage inbound and outbound shipments (Canada / international);
- Coordinate with carriers to ensure fast and efficient deliveries;
- Find and negotiate competitive transportation rates;
- Assume responsibility for and monitor transportation costs;
- Manage customs formalities (import/export);
- Assign and validate HS codes for products;
- Prepare commercial invoices and all required documentation;
- Ensure compliance with applicable standards and regulations;
- Resolve issues related to deliveries, delays, or non-compliance;
- Perform various related tasks to support smooth company operations.
Job Requirements Education
- High school diploma or equivalent experience
Technical Skills
- 1 to 2 years of experience in a similar role
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), an asset
- Knowledge of an ERP system, an asset
- Forklift certification, an asset
- Excellent proficiency in French (spoken and written), along with functional proficiency in written English, is required to read and understand technical documentation provided by suppliers located outside Quebec
