Purpose of the position

Reporting to the Purchasing Director, the incumbment is responsible for the procurement of goods and services by following up on orders and ensuring manufacturers' delivery times. The buyer must also monitor inventory levels with warehouse workers.

Responsibilities

  • Perform direct (raw materials, hardware, tooling, etc. ) and indirect (packaging, tools, PPE, maintenance, etc.) supply for the plant ;
  • Fill out purchase orders for the materials required for manufacturing ;
  • Follow up on purchase orders placed with suppliers and subcontractors ;
  • Inform management of any anticipated delays at suppliers and propose solutions to minimize the impact of these details ;
  • Issue requests for quotes, according to the specifications and requirements required and in accordance with company policies ;
  • Respond to queries from other departments regarding orders ;
  • Restock the inventory level according to the needs of warehouse workers ;
  • Produce procurement reports and evaluate costs ;
  • Perform all other related tasks.

Job Requirements

Education Requirements

  • DCS in administration, logistics or relevant fields.

Technical skills

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an equivalent position ;
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.);
  • Excellent proficiency in French (spoken and written), along with advanced proficiency in English (spoken and written), is required to support regular communications with clients and suppliers outside Quebec.
