On a daily basis, you will:
  • Plan, coordinate, and prioritize procurement activities based on project milestones, operational constraints, and production requirements, while maintaining strong relationships with clients and suppliers.
  • Develop, qualify, and maintain a panel of strategic suppliers, ensuring their compliance with technical, quality, HSE, and delivery requirements.
  • Analyze technical purchasing requirements and lead RFQ/RFP processes for equipment and materials in accordance with company policies and sourcing strategies.
  • Conduct commercial and contractual negotiations, including pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, incoterms, and performance guarantees.
  • Manage the full supplier contract lifecycle, including drafting, revision, performance monitoring, and renewals, with a focus on risk reduction and overall value creation.
  • Ensure alignment with corporate sourcing strategies and specific project requirements (cost, quality, schedule).
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, planning, operations, and project controls to optimize purchasing decisions and minimize impacts on execution.
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives, particularly in cost optimization, procurement standardization, and supplier performance.
  • Monitor supplier performance and manage deviations, including non-conformities, delays, claims, and mitigation plans.
  • Oversee logistics follow-up and ensure delivery timelines are met by implementing expediting mechanisms and proactive supply risk management.


Requirements:
  • Training in procurement or administration and practical knowledge of the legal and commercial aspects of procurement. University degree (an asset) and a minimum of five to ten (5-10) years of relevant experience or any equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
  • Knowledge of procurement terms and conditions (Incoterms) and relevant legislation.
  • Fluency in French and English required occasionally since the person will collaborate with colleagues and clients outside of Quebec, both written and oral.
