Physician Lead – Academic Planning Committee

Job Summary

Fraser Health Long-Term Care & Assisted Living (LTCAL) Physician Services is inviting applications for members of the Academic Planning Committee. This exciting Physician Lead role provides the opportunity to support the education portfolio by managing the development and coordination of Continuing Medical Education (CME) opportunities, conferences, and leadership development modules. You will work with other physician leaders and be supported by administrative staff to guide strategies and priorities, as well as assist with the planning, moderation, and evaluation of events to enhance the quality of clinical care for Long-Term Care & Assisted Living residents.

 

Key Areas of Involvement:

  • Provides leadership in managing all aspects of academic planning.
  • Collaborates with other committee members to identify educational topics and speakers.
  • Establishes priorities, schedules, and timelines.
  • Moderates events and facilitates Q&A sessions.
  • Develops and prepares proposals for CME accreditation.
  • Oversees the evaluation process for continuous quality improvement.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with physicians, staff, and community.
  • Significant clinical experience and comfort working with the frail and elderly population.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Leadership experience and experience in planning and implementing system level healthcare initiatives would be considered assets.
  • Member of a local Division of Family Practice and part of the Family Practice Services Committee’s Long-Term Care Initiative.
  • Licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia.
  • Coverage with the Canadian Medical Protective Association.

 

Compensation:

 

Administrative stipend Approximately 3.5 hours/month totaling $7000 per annum.

Term: Until March 31, 2026.

Start Date: As soon as possible.

Location:

Participation in virtual monthly meetings is required (one meeting of up to 2 hours per month, plus attendance at monthly accredited rounds). All key activities can be done remotely. 

Reporting Structure:

Reports to the Regional Medical Director, Long-Term Care & Assisted Living.
