Our client, an educational institution, is seeking an HR Administration Technician for a temporary contract. Under the supervision of the Senior Human Resources Advisor, the incumbent provides technical and administrative support for the daily activities of the Human Resources Department. The individual contributes to the rigorous application of HR processes, the maintenance of employee files, and the smooth running of operations in a unionized school environment.

Schedule: Monday through Friday, on-site from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. (between 30 and 35 hours per week)

Salary: between $28 and $37 per hour (equivalent to an annual salary between $51,000 and $67,000) depending on experience

Work location: Montréal

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Employee file administration
  • Create, maintain, and close employee files (teaching and non-teaching staff).
  • Generate employment confirmations, certificates, and administrative documents.
  • Ensure the compliance and integrity of HR data.
  • Manage leave balances, absences, vacations, and administrative follow-ups. Recruitment and Onboarding Support
  • Post job openings and manage applications.
  • Conduct administrative screening and coordinate interviews.
  • Provide administrative onboarding and support for new staff. Payroll and Benefits Support
  • Prepare and verify data required for payroll.
  • Follow up with group insurance and pension plans.
  • Work closely with the payroll department and the HR advisor. Application of Collective Bargaining Agreements
  • Apply the administrative provisions of collective bargaining agreements.
  • Calculate education and experience credits upon hiring.
  • Process pay grade promotions and other administrative changes.
  • Meet deadlines and fulfill contractual obligations.
  • Produce HR reports and tracking tables.
  • Contribute to the improvement of HR tools and procedures.
  • Provide courteous and thorough service to employees.
  • Perform any other related tasks pertaining to HR operations.

Requested skills

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Associate’s degree in administrative technology, human resources, or equivalent training.
  • Minimum of 2 to 4 years of experience in an HR or administrative role.
  • Experience in a unionized or educational setting (strongly preferred).
  • Good knowledge of collective bargaining agreements and labor standards.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel required).
