POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Reporting to the Head Chef, the Kitchen Helper assists the chef and cooks in their duties. They participate in the preparation of cold dishes and desserts, cut and peel vegetables and fruits, plate dishes, prepare meal carts, and participate in the maintenance of equipment and the kitchen with the rest of the team.
Schedule: Full-time or part-time, day and/or evening
Salary: $18.25/hour
ROLE AND GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assemble plates of food
- Clean kitchen equipment
- Create tasty menus while respecting the expected level of quality and the allocated budget
- Ensure and optimize quality standards in the use of food
- Peel and cut vegetables for meals
- Good team player
- A proffesional studies dimploma (DEP) in institutional cuisine or equivelent
