POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Located in the heart of the new Solar district in Brossard, Jazz Brossard is delighted to welcome a wonderful clientele, both independent and those experiencing a loss of autonomy. We are currently seeking a creative and passionate Cook to provide an exceptional culinary experience for our residents. This is a permanent part-time position, between 12 and 25 hours per week, daytime hours from 9:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., with variable workdays and one weekend out of two.
ROLE AND GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assemble plates of food
- Ensure and optimize quality standards in the use of food
- Ensure the kitchen and equipment are kept clean according to established hygiene and cleanliness standards
- Peel and cut vegetables for meals
- Perform other related duties
- Plan and cook meals in accordance with the appropriate methods and standards
- Supervise the preparation of cold meals and desserts
- Use products and equipment according to the safety, quality, hygiene and cleanliness rules and standards in effect
- When appropriate, collaborate with the chef in the creation of the menus by proposing ideas
- A proffesional studies dimploma (DEP) in institutional cuisine or equivelent
- Training certification (MAPAQ)
- Knowledge of retirement homes, a major asset
- A minimum of 2 to 4 years experience
- Experience in a large restoration's volume (an asset)
