POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Under the supervision of the Head Chef, the successful candidate will assist the Head Chef and cooks in their duties. They participate in the preparation of cold dishes and desserts, cut and peel vegetables and fruit, plate dishes, prepare meal trolleys, and assist the rest of the team with the maintenance of equipment and the kitchen. Permanent full-time position, 40 hours per week, day/evening shifts from 11:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., and one weekend out of two.
ROLE AND GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Carry out cutting and peeling vegetables and fruits
- Assemble plates of food
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure good teamwork
- Ensure the kitchen and equipment are kept clean according to established hygiene and cleanliness standards
- Maintaining the cleanliness of equipment and the workspace
- Manning the warm table, help residences with their choices
- Perform other related duties
- Supervise the preparation of cold meals and desserts
- Good team player
- Good sense of interpersonal communication
- Experience in a large restoration's volume (an asset)
- Knowledge of retirement homes, an asset
- 1 year of experience in a similar position required
