An Agile Portfolio Analyst in the CRM, Data & Analytics domain is responsible for enabling visibility, alignment, and strategic decision-making across agile initiatives within an organization. They act as a bridge to support the Agile delivery teams and executive leadership, ensuring that work at all levels contributes to business outcomes and is tracked effectively.

Strategic Alignment:

  • Ensures that portfolios support the domain’s strategic goals and priorities.
  • Develop and prepare high-quality executive presentation materials for senior leadership that align with portfolio strategic goals.
  • Support portfolio-level planning and prioritization, ensuring resources are allocated to the highest-value work, and ensure alignment between funding, capacity, and delivery.
  • Support the development of Agile teams’ strategic plans, act as a trusted advisor to business groups, identify emerging issues and trends to inform decision-making, and lead the development and implementation of agile guidelines within the domain for Agile Teams.
  • Foster a culture aligned to BMO's purpose, values, and strategy, ensuring alignment between values and behavior that fosters diversity and inclusion.

Visibility & Transparency:

  • Provides clear insights into progress, dependencies, risks, and resource allocation across teams and initiatives.
  • Collaborate with agile teams, Product Managers, Scrum Masters, and LOB Portfolio Manager to ensure accurate executive presentation material content and track progress and dependencies.
  • Support, maintain, and evolve portfolio dashboards and reporting tools to provide clear insights into progress, dependencies, risks, and resource allocations.
  • Monitor and track performance, address any issues, and integrate information from multiple sources to enable more efficient processes, enhanced analysis, and streamlined reporting.
  • Provide specialized consulting, analytical, and technical support, build effective relationships with internal/external stakeholders, and maintain up-to-date Business Capabilities and Roadmaps per Agile Team in Confluence.

Data-Driven Insights:

  • Enables leadership to make informed decisions using metrics and analytics from agile tools and practices. Collects and analyzes agile metrics (e.g., velocity, throughput, value delivery) to inform planning and prioritization.
  • Analyze complex data to extract insights for strategic decision-making and create clear, compelling visuals using data visualization tools.
  • Develop, promote, maintain, and actively manage the Agile delivery portfolio, analyzing trends and performance metrics to support continuous improvement.
  • Support agile maturity expertise to team members, helping them understand and utilize agile metrics such as velocity, throughput, and value delivery.
  • Monitor the financial and risk performance of the portfolio, perform financial and risk analysis, and support the execution of strategic initiatives in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

Governance and Compliance:

  • Supports adherence to governance frameworks while maintaining agility.
  • Support Agile Teams by managing workflow and exception requests, exercising judgment to identify, diagnose, and solve problems.
  • Provide input into the planning and implementation of operational initiatives, work independently, and handle non-routine situations.

Value Optimization:

  • Identifies opportunities to improve flow, reduce waste, and maximize value delivery.
  • Identify opportunities to improve flow, reduce waste, and maximize value delivery by supporting multiple teams in Scrum of Scrums, Big Room Planning, and Retrospectives.
  • Translate BMO Agile principles, practices, and behaviors into accessible frameworks and materials, and support the development of Scrum Masters, Kanban Leads, and Product Owners.
  • Collaborate with Agile teams to facilitate the maturity of agile processes and practices, and support the formation, effectiveness, and maturity of Agile teams.
  • Manage Operational Efficiency intakes, team reviews, and post-funding tracking, and coordinate/facilitate Research Engagement with vendors for monthly/quarterly presentations

Required Tools/Skills:

Clarity:

  • Support the use of clarity within the portfolio (eg, budget cost plans, forecast cost plans, status, resource management, and risk & issue management)
  • Identify and mitigate financial risk analysis, track budgets, forecast costs, and generate reports to support portfolio financial decisions.

Jira:

  • Proficiency in creating, managing, and tracking jira projects, epics, stories, and tasks using Scrum/Kanban boards, and customizing workflows to fit the needs of different teams of the portfolio.
  • Expertise in generating and customizing reports and dashboards to provide insights into Agile Team’s progress, knowledge of Jira automation rules to streamline processes, and ability to integrate Jira with other tools and systems.

Confluence:

  • Proficiency in creating, organizing, and maintaining documentation, as well as facilitating collaboration by managing spaces, pages, and templates for teams.
  • Knowledge of integrating Confluence with Jira and other tools for seamless information flow, and familiarity with using macros to enhance Confluence page functionality

Dashboard Development:

  • Skilled in creating visual representations of data using tools like Power BI and Tableau to provide clear, actionable insights and interactive dashboards.
  • Ability to customize dashboards to meet specific needs, integrate data from various sources, and continuously improve design and functionality based on feedback and evolving requirements.

Qualifications:

Advanced level of proficiency:

  • Typically between 5 - 7 years of relevant experience
  • Experience in Agile methodology.
  • Well-versed with Jira and Confluence
  • Well-versed with Excel and Power BI
  • Well-versed with Clarity
  • Well-versed with PowerPoint
  • Well-versed in creating Dashboards
  • Should have in-depth business acumen

Salary:

$69,000.00 - $129,000.00

The above represents BMO Financial Group’s pay range and type.

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.

BMO Financial Group’s total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
