Description
The successful applicant will work in compliance with all relevant and applicable legislation and Hospital Policies and Procedures, will practice the Bluewater Health Standards of Performance Excellence and will fulfill their role within the Attendance Support Program parameters. The successful applicant will also possess effective communication and interpersonal skills, will have the ability to work independently and as part of a team, and will have strong attention to detail and accuracy.

- Graduate of a Community College or University Biomedical Engineering Program required
- Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists (OACETT) Biomedical Certified preferred, or able to complete within 2 years of employment required
- must have a valid driver’s license and automobile.
- Minimum 5 years demonstrated and relevant experience working in a biomedical engineering environment
- Preference given to experience with Operating Room and Ventilation equipment
- Preference given to networking experience
- Knowledge of computers, operating systems and software with an emphasis on CMMS preferred
- Intermediate level proficiency using the Microsoft Suite of products required
- Evidence of strong organizational skills with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines is essential
- Experience completing work under minimal supervision by following oral and written instructions and making decisions independently regarding appropriate procedures
- Willingness and ability to travel (must have valid driver’s licence) to satellite clinics
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance procedures according to manufacturer specifications and complete appropriate documentation
- Calibrate and repair electronic and biomedical equipment and complete appropriate documentation
- Maintains a safe working environment for patients, visitors and staff
- Order parts and supplies as required
- Participates in unit/department and Hospital Quality Improvement initiatives
- Completes continuing education requirements as necessary
- Acts as a coach, mentor, resource and positive role model for new staff and students
- Other related duties as assigned
Successful applicant will be considered a multisite employee
Selection will be made on the basis of skill, ability, experience and qualifications as per Article 21.01 of the OPSEU Collective Agreement
