The successful applicant will work in compliance with all relevant and applicable legislation and Hospital Policies and Procedures, will practice the Bluewater Health Standards of Performance Excellence and will fulfill their role within the Attendance Support Program parameters. The successful applicant will also possess effective communication and interpersonal skills, will have the ability to work independently and as part of a team, and will have strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Qualifications:

As a Medical Laboratory Technologist, you’ll perform essential diagnostic testing in Haematology, Immunohaematology (Blood Bank), and Chemistry. You’ll contribute to quality improvement initiatives and continuing education, all while working in a supportive environment where your expertise truly makes a difference.

Qualifications:
• Active registration with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario (CMLTO) as a General MLT (required)
• Competent to practice Haematology / Immunohaematology (Blood Bank) and Chemistry required

Skill, Ability and Experience:

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
• Basic computer proficiency (required); experience with Oracle (preferred)
• Previous experience as a Medical Laboratory Technologist (preferred)

Principal Duties:

• Perform routine laboratory testing in Haematology, Immunohaematology, and Chemistry
• Contribute to unit, departmental, and hospital-wide quality improvement initiatives
• Complete required continuing education activities
• Fulfill responsibilities in accordance with Hospital policies, procedures, and standards of performance excellence
• Participate in the Attendance Support Program
• Other related duties as assigned
