We are currently supporting a fast-growing Quebec-based company in the retail sector, operating nationally with a network of over 80 stores as well as logistics facilities.
With approximately 700 employees, the organization operates in a highly operational environment where IT system performance is directly tied to the efficiency of store, warehouse, and head office operations.
In this context, the company is looking to hire an IT Infrastructure Director to help structure its technology function and strengthen team leadership.
This role combines both strategic responsibilities and strong hands-on involvement. The selected candidate will act as the primary technical reference within an agile IT team and will actively contribute to resolving critical issues.
Key Responsibilities- Act as the final escalation point for critical incidents and directly handle complex technical issues
- Ensure the stability, performance, and availability of IT systems across a multi-site environment (stores, warehouses, head office)
- Lead, mentor, and develop an IT team of approximately 5 members through a hands-on leadership approach
- Implement processes, standards, and best practices to structure and mature the IT function
- Optimize support operations and identify opportunities for automation and technical debt reduction
- Oversee technology environments (servers, network, M365, Azure) and their evolution
- Define and maintain cybersecurity, risk management, and business continuity practices
- Manage the IT budget, vendors, and licensing, ensuring investment decisions align with business needs
- Actively participate in IT projects and ensure delivery within timelines and budgets
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in IT, including team management experience
- Strong technical expertise in IT infrastructure with the ability to be hands-on when needed
- Experience in multi-site environments (retail, distribution, logistics) — a strong asset
- Solid knowledge of the following environments:
- Servers: Windows, virtualization (e.g., Hyper-V), on-premise infrastructure
Network: Fortinet or similar environments
Cloud: Microsoft 365, Azure, Entra ID - Experience in cybersecurity (implementation of controls, incident management)
- Ability to make fast, high-impact technical decisions in critical situations
- Fluent in French and English is mendatory to communicate with partners outside based outside of Quebec.
