Senior System & Network Administrator

We are partnering with a well-established Quebec-based organization operating in the education and public services sector. Its technological environment is complex, distributed, and continuously evolving, with infrastructure deployed across multiple geographic locations.

In this context, the organization is looking to hire a Senior System and Network Administrator who will take ownership of a critical multi-site infrastructure, ensure its stability, and actively contribute to its evolution.

You will be responsible for managing, evolving, and securing a distributed IT infrastructure including Microsoft server environments, multi-site networks (LAN/WAN), VPN connectivity, and security systems (firewalls, intrusion detection, etc.).

You will play a key role in maintaining operations, optimizing performance, and implementing solutions aligned with business needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain multi-site network environments (LAN/WAN, VPN, VLAN)
• Manage and configure firewalls and security solutions (WatchGuard or equivalent)
• Ensure performance, availability, and security of wired and wireless networks
• Participate in infrastructure deployment and modernization projects
• Administer Windows Server, Active Directory, GPO, and Office 365 environments
• Manage Azure services and system management tools (SCCM, SCOM)
• Ensure backup management, storage (NAS/SAN), and business continuity
• Diagnose and resolve incidents (log analysis, monitoring, diagnostic tools)
• Propose and implement technological improvements
• Write and maintain technical documentation
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure a high level of support

Profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in system and network administration
• Hands-on experience in multi-site environments (VPN, firewalls, WAN)
• Strong expertise in Microsoft infrastructure (AD, GPO, O365, Azure)
• Experience with firewalls (WatchGuard, Fortinet, Palo Alto or equivalent)
• Experience with virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V)
• Good understanding of networking protocols (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, routing, etc.)
• Autonomous, resourceful, and problem-solving mindset
• Ability to work in a distributed and non-standardized environment

Assets

• Experience with Aruba (switching, WiFi)
• Experience in complex multi-site environments or managed services (MSP)
• Experience in education or public sector environments
• Knowledge of scripting (PowerShell) or cloud technologies
