JOB SUMMARY:

The incumbent of this position coordinates an interdisciplinary team in addition to providing an adult clientele with a mental illness and/or undergoing addiction treatment with a full range of services as a social worker based on the single session therapy model and a recovery perspective. The incumbent handles a social worker’s clinical caseload and ensures that clients and their natural support networks participate in developing care plans. The incumbent may implement and/or facilitate psychoeducational or therapeutic group sessions. In addition, the incumbent stays up-to-date on the various community resources available and facilitates access to these resources by clients and their natural support networks. The incumbent also provides clinical leadership, supervision and coordination of the clinical services delivered by the interdisciplinary team. Furthermore, the incumbent is responsible for assigning clinical cases within the department and ensures that professionals comply with professional practice standards as well as applicable policies and procedures. The incumbent works closely with the program manager to ensure that the department runs smoothly. The position duties also include assessment, treatment, counselling, crisis intervention, case management, rehabilitation, and prevention. 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Member in good standing of the New Brunswick Association of Social Workers;
  • At least five (3) years of clinical experience in the field of mental health;
  • Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) by set deadline;
  • Ability to form effective partnerships with the community network;
  • Ability to offer group sessions to clients;
  • Good computer skills;
  • Creativity and innovation;
  • Clinical judgment and good analytical skills;
  • Leadership and good decision-making skills;
  • Proven communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Adaptability and flexibility;
  • Good organizational skills and ability to set priorities;
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to use own vehicle for work;
  • Willingness to travel within the zone;
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member;
  • Physical ability to perform assigned duties;
  • Good previous work history (performance and attendance);
  • Adherence to professional ethics principles, the Network management philosophy, and organizational values;
  • Compliance with the rules of confidentiality established by the Network.
