JOB SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Public Health manager for the zone, the successful candidate will coordinate the Health Promotion Program. Taking into account health determinants and social inequality, the successful candidate will analyze the nature of a health issue or problem and provide expert analysis and advice based on theory, evidence and experience as to how to manage the issue or problem through the right combination of health promotion strategies. The position involves organizational, community, and personal development, as well as strategy development and partnership building. The position also involves effectively communicating information relating to health and social and behavioral factors, with the aim of influencing community health. Furthermore, the successful candidate will contribute to maintaining the knowledge and skills of staff members. They will also take on the role of consultant and liaison officer with staff, and internal and external partners.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in the human, social, or health sciences;
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in community development;
  • Master's degree in Public Health, Health Promotion, or a related field, considered an asset;
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered;
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or willingness to obtain it within the established timeframe;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and other software applications used within the Network;
  • Advanced knowledge of health and its determinants;
  • Ability to develop and maintain a network of partners;
  • Ability to apply evidence-informed practices, theoretical knowledge, and ethical principles in the delivery of work;
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive interpersonal relationships through diplomacy, persuasion and negotiation skills, appreciation of diversity, and the ability to build consensus;
  • Strategic thinking and the ability to drive strategic change through influence and leadership;
  • Strong organizational, prioritization, and time management skills;
  • Initiative, analytical thinking, and self-motivation;
  • Valid driver's licence and willingness to use a personal vehicle in the performance of duties;
  • Ability and willingness to travel throughout the Zone and the Network as required;
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member;
  • Physical ability to perform assigned duties;
  • Good previous work history (performance and attendance);
  • Adherence to professional ethics principles, to the Network management philosophy and organizational values;
  • Compliance with the rules of confidentiality established by the Vitalité Health Network.
